Marlboro Electric Trust
Embracing service to the community in our own quiet way.
Members are participating in an exciting program that offers financial assistance to worthwhile causes in our community!
Can you imagine how you would feel if you or someone you loved were diagnosed with a critical illness? Or how devastating it would be to lose everything you owned in a fire? How would you manage financially? How would you take care of your family's living expenses? Pay your bills? The job of the MEC Trust Board is to ensure that those in need are getting help when they find themselves asking these exact questions.
Through Operation Round-Up, co-op members can "round up" their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar and these additional funds are placed in a trust and used to assist neighbors with emergency support such as food, clothing or shelter. Volunteers from Marlboro and Dillon counties comprise the MEC Trust Board, which decides how Operation Round-Up funds are used.
It is a very rewarding program that means a lot to those who have been a part of it in Marlboro and Dillon counties. If you are willing and able, you may "round-up" your bill to the nearest dollar, and simply by donating a few cents, you will have contributed to a cause that is bigger than just our cooperative and made an impact in the lives of those around you.
Please take the time to contact us to see if you are a Round-Up participant. We also accept generous donations of any amount willing to be given towards the cause. All contributions are tax deductible.
Marlboro Electric thanks you for your contributions to this program!
